I am incredibly pissed at Hasbro for what they've done, and I'm incredibly saddened by what it means for your work. Does this mean you won't be making any more pony related animations for good? You are the fandom's best animator hands down, and have produced works with quality beyond compare. I'd fully be willing to donate a couple bucks if you attempted to fight the C&D on Fair Use grounds. I really hope you don't give up.
It mainly means I can’t produce or upload pony related content on my youtube channel, but I can still work under commission for pony videos and projects. More informations will be explained soon enough in my next announcement video.
Either way I’m sure there are plenty of great artists out there who are and will still be producing pony animations. :)
what the um why are you so scared of slendermane i mean you met him on the death cruise it makes no sense to be honest
Sigh. Sweetie Belle says her dream is blurry. She doesn’t know what she’s scared about, she just is. All she gets to see is a tall figure while she’s alone in the everfree forest, which is full of dangerous unknown creatures, in the middle of a dark night. She is dominated by anxiety, she is a filly, also she wouldn’t think of it since Slendy was introduced as the guardian of the island they went to, which implies he shouldn’t, couldn’t or wouldn’t leave it.
Makes more sense now? In times like these I hate being unable to continue and having to explain stuff outside of the comic.
As you may have noticed, it’s been a while now since the last CMC update. For a blog called “Ask the Crusaders” I understand it’s not really what people would expect to happen.
Once again, I’d like to apologize for the lack of graphic updates. In the next few months I probably won’t have a chance to work on any CMC posts until my schedule gets ligther which will probably be in august.
Animation is my priority and I have a lot of work to do, I hope you guys understand.
With that being said, I’m sorry to declare a Hiatus on Ask The Crusaders that will last for a few months.
But don’t worry, This blog will keep being alive; New animations will be posted when done and streams will be announced to offer you guys as much enterteinment as possible.
For any question you’d like to ask me and not the CMCs, you can send them over at my Mod Blog AskTheJan.
It’s all for now, thank you for the attention. Jan.
So, my friend ShadyVox is kind of in a bad financial situation and could lose his internet, if not more. I can’t go into details because it’s kind of a personal problem but If you want to know more, you can ask him.
As you might now, he’s my working partner, he’s the voice of Button Mash and the sound/music designer of most of my newest videos including Don’t Mine at Night and Button’s Adventures, and he kinda needs some support right now.
He’s open to take commissions for any kind of sound-related material, such as voice-acting, sound engineering and music composing for your projects. If you don’t have any projects, you can also support him by buying his songs on Bandcamp.com for just one dollar or more depending on how much you feel generous. Here’s the link to check his stuff and possibly buy albums and songs from him. http://shadyvox.bandcamp.com/
And, in case you are so kind to just throw money at him without asking for anything in return, you can donate to his paypal which is probably confidential and just for bussiness, but you can stil contact him and ask for it through his website.
Thank you for reading, and thank you in advance for supporting my friend in this situation.
Went to assistance, they saw the hard disk and all its data is intact but for some reason the computer doesn’t turn on so it must be an OS problem. They are gonna make a complete backup and change the defective hard disk on my Mac just in case and they’re gonna install the most recent Operative System on it, then make a complete check-up and change everything that is not working well or good enough like video/audio board or the screen.
Funny thing I found out my AppleCare cover ends on October 30th, so it’s still on warranty and all of this won’t create extra charges.
Long story short, I’ll have my mac and all my data back in a week or so plus an extra 2TB HDD that I’ll use as a constant and real-time back-up plus 4 more GB RAM for a total of 8GB RAM. Everything for just 260 euros. (Around 290 USD)
I’ll still be able to work on Don’t Mine at Night in the meanwhile, but chances are that it won’t be completed in time for its planned release date which is October 25th.
Turned on my computer today to stare at a blank white loading screen. (Yes I have a Mac, you can laugh now.)
Called assistance, told me it’s a callback by Apple since they noticed some of the iMacs sold between October 2009 and July 2011 could have a defective HDD and so they have to be brought in assistance for free substitution. Point is I don’t know if the HDD has been blocked for this reason or if it’s just a coincidence and it decided to fail today.
I will try to connect my Mac to another computer as an external hard disk with a firewire 600 cable and see if I can access my data and make a backup. If not, I have to hope they can do that in Assistance but it could not be possible.
If so, well, I probably lost all my data. That means every in-progress project plus work and personal data are gone. What a beautiful moment for something like this to happen, right? Not only I had a deadline for Don’t Mine at Night, but I was close to finish one of my best works yet.
Farewell, until new updates on the matter.
PS: If my data will be retrievable, I’ll probably leave Apple and go back to windows by making myself an alienware or some other powerful shit like that just because I feel like to.
If you want to donate something to guarantee better assistance and data retrieving/new computer, you can throw some money at my paypal account email@example.com, but I suggest you to wait for more updates on this matter first.
Hi guys. You may have noticed the lack of updates in the last few days. Point is I need to complete Don’t Mine at Night by the end of october and I really don’t have time to work on more updates for now. Also, I’m still trying to get money so I can get helpers for it.
So yeah, things will probably get better by November. Please be patient. In the meanwhile you’ll have to be happy with livestreams.
No time means you need helpers. It also means you kinda need to pay them.
Hi guys, it’s Jan. Please take a few minutes to read.
As you may have noticed, the updates for this blog are taking much more time than before. That is because I’m currently busy with animation projects such as Don’t Mine at Night, which needs to be completed before the end of October in order to be shown at BronyDays in France where I’ve been invited as a guest.
I currently don’t have an actual decent job and I use the few bucks I earn monthly to pay my internet and my bills, not to mention technical equipment such as hard drives, Flash extensions and other stuff I need in order to upgrade myself and produce more stuff in less time. For example, I will soon need another hard disk since I’m about to full up more than 4 TeraBytes with my animation files (Just so you guys know, I don’t just work on ponies, so the material you see in here is just, like 1/5 than what I actually produce.).
Short story: in order to guarantee more content from this blog and less wait for you I would have to basically “hire” some helpers, and of course I would also need to pay them for their contribution.
Before you guys offer to help me with the blog for free and stuff, I must decline your offer and I’ll now explain you why: I need people who I can trust enough to share my Flash Files and Flash Puppets with, and those are my friends who I’ve been teaching Flash to in the last few months. They often helped me by tracing some props and backgrounds and even making a few posts such as these three: OneTwoThree You can’t tell the difference between my posts and theirs, can you? This is so you can be sure that the quality of the blog won’t drop at all.
Since they DO have an actual job and not really enough time to help me as much as I would need, the only solution is to pay them for their time and work. This is how everything in life works, unfortunately.
And this is where you guys come in. This is something we’re doing for your enterteinment after all, and all I ask for is a little contribution to the blog. A little donation will do more than you can imagine. Of course you don’t have to. You can just sit back and wait as a lot of people already do and will probably do, but I’m just telling you guys how things are right now and how we can improve the situation.
Please do think about it. In case you feel generous, you can find the Donate Button right on the Ask Box.
